An umbrella programme comprises of various activities for school children like financial literacy classes, account opening camps, financial literacy related workshops and competitions, formation of financial literacy clubs etc.
Seasoned bankers were hired as trainers - both retired and from our existing staff - and provided them training through M/s Rajagiri outReach.
Each branch of the Bank identified one school each in their command area for implementing the programme.
Officially launched on 23.01.2017 at Assissi Vidyanikethan Public School, Kakkanad, Kochi by Hon'ble Minister.
Mr. Gopinath Muthukad, the ace magician and motivational guru is the brand ambassador of the programme.
The trainers conducted financial literacy classes in schools identified by the branches.
Customized financial literacy booklets designed by the Bank were supplied to the students attended the class.
Under the programme, we have associated with an Amsterdam based organization namely, Child & Youth Finance International. NABARD has provided financial support.
The programme was a huge success as we reached out to more than 60000 students in 580 schools and opened more than 33000 Junior Savings Accounts during the campaign.
