A novel financial literacy programme conceived and implemented by KGB for school children. Mr. Gopinath Muthukad, the ace magician is the Ambassador of the widely acclaimed programme

  • To propagate financial literacy among school children, KGB has devised a novel project called FI@School.
  • An umbrella programme comprises of various activities for school children like financial literacy classes, account opening camps, financial literacy related workshops and competitions, formation of financial literacy clubs etc.
  • Seasoned bankers were hired as trainers - both retired and from our existing staff - and provided them training through M/s Rajagiri outReach.
  • Each branch of the Bank identified one school each in their command area for implementing the programme.
  • Officially launched on 23.01.2017 at Assissi Vidyanikethan Public School, Kakkanad, Kochi by Hon'ble Minister.
  • Mr. Gopinath Muthukad, the ace magician and motivational guru is the brand ambassador of the programme.
  • The trainers conducted financial literacy classes in schools identified by the branches.
  • Customized financial literacy booklets designed by the Bank were supplied to the students attended the class.
  • Under the programme, we have associated with an Amsterdam based organization namely, Child & Youth Finance International. NABARD has provided financial support.
  • The programme was a huge success as we reached out to more than 60000 students in 580 schools and opened more than 33000 Junior Savings Accounts during the campaign.
  • The programme was covered by local as well as national media.
